Description
FREE domestic or international shipping with direct order. **Berlin: Der Sturm, [1913]. 75 illustrations on 63 plates. [8] pp. + numbered plates 4-67 + pp. [I]-XXXXI. Half-vellum & brown patterned boards, with a leather label on the backstrip and with the original blue front wrapper printed in gold bound in. Name in ink on original wrapper, and small, attractive bookplate inside front cover. Alas, this excellent book encountered far too much water at some time in its life, but there are no stuck pages. The top edge and a third of the front edge of the title page are stained blue from the cover, along with a much smaller part of the bottom edge. This pattern (but not the blue) persists through the book; the staining is light to nearly invisible, but the pages are warped and rippled at the top (hardly at all at the bottom, after the first 20 pages). The vellum is somewhat stained at the backstrip and a couple of corners; there is a large peeled spot on the rear board. **A poem, "An Kandinsky," by Albert Verwey, Kandinsky's "Rückblick," and other texts occupy the 41 Roman-numbered pages. As is.
