This small volume, published upon the centenary of Falshaw's birth, deals first with the history of his family, from 1379, and his environs: Langstroth and Coverdale. A sermon by the Reverend W.A. Shuffrey, preached on September 29, 1907, tells us that "he assisted in making the second railway (from Leeds to Selby) that was constructed in England." Later "he was associated with the most famous engineers of his time—Stephenson and Brassey." An obituary from The Scotsman, 15th June 1889, notes, "Outwardly of a brusque demeanour, and inwardly possessed of a swift mental way of arriving at the heart of things, he was impatient of public palaver, and his laconic methods of conducting council and railway meetings occasionally staggered advocates of free speech." Only two copies located by OCLC (the World Catalogue).
