Christo considered the work of art to be the total process, not just the finished product. That included making drawings and plans; solving technical and manufacturing problems; correspondence; dealing with various governmental, commercial, and private entities; and overcoming public objections. This book and others like it on Christo's work provide remarkable insights into his art, in particular, and on the creation of public art, in general. Very fine. This copy was given by the Christos to Lynda Forsha and Hugh Davies; in 1981 she was at the then-La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art (now the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego) and worked on the exhibition and catalogue, "Christo, collection on loan from the Rothschild Bank AG, Zurich"; he later became the director. See also Christo's Le Pont Neuf (my item 06021) and Gates: Central Park (06031). All three are association copies from the same source. The publisher no longer has copies. Shipping weight: 12-13 pounds. Item #06026
