Magic motorways. Norman Bel Geddes.

Magic motorways

New York: Random House, 1940. Profusely illustrated with photographs, plans, drawings. 297 pp. Cloth, with damaged dustjacket in Brodart sleeve. 26.2 x 20 cm. Norman Bel Geddes was a talented stage designer and creator of the General Motors Futurama exhibit seen by five millioin people at the 1939 New York World's Fair. This vastly influential book elicits both admiration at the vision and intelligence that produced it, and rue at the way too much of it has turned out. Apart from the usual stained endpapers and a gift inscription inside the front cover, the book itself is in unusually good condition. The scarce and fragile dustjacket has a very large piece missing from the front panel and other wear and damage. **Free domestic shipping with direct order. Item #62801
