Lotus 4: an international review of contemporary architecture; rivista internationale…; revue internationale… 1967–1968
Milano: Bruno Alfieri, 1967-1968. Lavishly illustrated in b/w & some color. [8] advertising pp. + 278 pp. White boards with dustjacket. 22.6 x 23.6 cm. The fourth volume of this excellent but short-lived publication (1964-1970) on the latest in world architecture. Texts by Alberto Rosselli, Esther McCoy, Giuseppe Mazzariol, Paolo Portoghesi, and Peter Rüdinger, variously in Italian, English, French, and German. More than 25 buildings and projects discussed include Kevin Roche's Oakland Museum in California; Louis Kahn's Salk Institute in La Jollla, California; Robert Venturi's Flug House in Princeton, New Jersey; and Stanley Tigerman's entertaining but demented project for a pair of inverted V-shaped buildings 600 feet wide at the base, over 400 feet tall, and straddling a multi lane freeway. A very fine copy in dustjacket. Item #67052
