Dyn: the review of modern art. Numbers 4-5, Amerindian number

Mexico City: the editor, December 1943. The fourth of five issues (6 numbers). Profusely illustrated, including 11 color plates. 83 pp. Original paper covers. 28.6 x 22.5 cm. Essays, on topics dealing with Native North Americans, almost all in English, by Wolfgang Paalen, Alfonso Caso, Gustav Regler, Miguel Covarrubias, Maud Worcester Makemson, Jorge Enciso, Miguel Angel Fernandez, R. Margain Araujo, Francisco Diaz de Leon, and César Moro; book Reviews by Charles Givors, César Moro, and Eva Sulzer; artwork by Alice Paalen, Miguel Covarrubias, Rosa Rolando, Miguel Angel Fernandez, Florence Arquin, Francisco Diaz de Leon, Eva Sulzer, Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Marie Louise Vogeler, Jorge Enciso, Luis Limon Aragon, amd Martin Chambi. A creased, worn copy of the publisher's apology for the issue's late publication is laid in. Despite an ink mark on the cover and a few flaws of the backstrip, this is a better copy than most. The coated paper that Paalen adopted for the final two issues has not help up well in general. A short tab between pp. 10 and 11 is a feature of the binding, not evidence of a missing plate. Another, lesser copy available at $175. Please see my listings for Dyn 1, 2, and 6 **Free domestic or international shipping with direct order. Item #71911
