Berkeley: Emigre Graphics, [1986]. Issue no. 6, 1986, of this remarkable periodical, published 1984 through 2005 in 69 issues. Profusely illustrated. About 43.2 x 29.4 cm. Decorated paper covers. This is the original issue, "International culture," in its mailing box, but LACKING the handmade, letterpress-printed fan by Susan E. King. It consists of several parts: Part 1, 16 pp. printed in black and red; Part 2, 32 pp. in black on newsprint, with the top 3 inches ot the cover browned; 16 pp. in black on newsprint; Art Sightseeing Souvenir Tourism Exhibition Tile Trip, Franklin Furnace Archive (poster with 7 small pieces of applied tile); "Inserts" (12 pp.); large card advertising fonts and pictograms; and Emigre subscription notice. The contributors are: Gavin Flint, Andrea Goldstein, John Hersey, Stefano Massei, Winston Tong, John Fante, Alice Polesky, Didier Cremieux, Scott Wiliams, Jeffrey Browning, Kees Broos, Ward Schumaker, Stanley Ramos, Kyle Thayer, Peter Claessens, Karen Douglas, and Rigo. The round label that closes the mailing box is whole and remains fully attached on the right hand side; the lefthand side was lifted off and has three creases but no tears. As is. Item #72002
