New York: Second Half Publishing Co., Spring 1958–Spring 1960 & Autumn 1965. Profusely illustrated (part color). Original paper covers. Approximately 29 x 24 cm. One of the relatively few publications of any kind with direct contributions from Abstract Expressionist and New York School artists, including Guston, both de Koonings, Reinhardt, Krasner, Kline, Hofmann, Motherwell, Tworkov, and dozens of others. Contains panel discussions, artists' statements, and a wealth of reproductions. Number 6, published after a 5-year hiatus, is devoted to the Waldorf Panels 1 & 2 on Sculpture, held February and March 1965 at the Fifth Avenue hotel. No. 1 has a couple of light spots on the front cover and some foxing on the rear; laid in is a Second Half invoice for a one-year subscription ($6.50), dated May 6, 1959, to Galerie Rive Droite, in Paris; also, a prospectus and reply card for issue no. 2. No. 2 is near fine, with a small bump at the bottom front corner and light soiling on the rear cover. No. 3 is near fine in a later 4-mil Mylar jacket; it also has a small scribble ("yes" perhaps) in red on the front cover, a $3.00 sticker over the original $2.00 price, and an illegible ink signature on the first leaf. No. 4 has light soil on the covers and a 1.5-cm chip out of the spine not affecting the spine title. No. 5 has light soil on the rear cover and a small repair at the top of the spine. No. 6 is fine but slightly shaken as usual, due to the inclusion in the binding of 12 triple-panel gatefolds, all of them present and properly folded; 27 x 23 cm. The scans show nos. 1-4. Arntzen/Rainwater Q193.
