Location. Vol. 1, no. 1, Spring 1963
New York: Longview Foundation, 1963-1964. The first of two issues. Illustrated and with literary contributions. Cover by Larry Rivers. 98 pp. Stiff card covers. 24 x 21.7 cm. Contributions by Kenneth Koch, Robert Rauschenberg, Kenneth Burke, Saul Steinberg, Marshall McLuhan, Willem de Kooning, Saul Bellow, and others. There are at least two variants of this issue. One has a blank spine; the other has titling and the date; I assume the blank one has priority, but that is only an educated guess; this one is printed. This short-lived magazine was, and remains, influential for any study of Abstract Expressionism, the New York School, and many of the other currents that emerged in the early 1960s. Repair at head of spine. Lower front corner creased. **Free domestic shipping with direct order. Item #75502
