Russia: the artist, 1936. Signed in pencil at lower right, with a written, one-word caption and 1936 at lower left. Off-white paper with dark sepia ink. Image: 23 x 35 cm; paper: 37.7 x 49 cm. The scan crops the wide margins seriously due to the large size of the image and paper. 1-cm closed tear in upper margin and a few shallow creases at outer segments of margins. A vigorous image from the pre-War Soviet Union. Sarra Shor studied and interacted with many well-known artists in Ukraine and Russia and was active in the Yiddish Theatre in both Kiev and Moscow.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Three additional images accompanying this entry have no relation to it and are 100% wrong. They must be the product of some algoridiot that has corrupted the record in all the sites where it appears, including my own. It has resisted correction so far. Item #29301
