Pax Number 13: Documents of Modern Art; Archives of American Art: Censored; The new decade.
New York: Robert Lax, 1960. Pax was issued intermittently in 18 issues between 1956 and 1962, with three later ones in 1985. Samples: Gottlieb and Rothko, "There is no such thing as a good painting about nothing." Reinhardt, "There is no such thing as a good painting about something." Baziotes and Blesh, "I looked at Picasso until I could smell his armpits." Reinhardt, "Study the old masters. Look at nature. Watch out for armpits."
